USD 320 uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:

  • Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification 
  • Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm 
  • Communicate in your preferred language
  • Comment on school postings to engage with your school community
  • Direct message teachers, staff and other parents
  • Participate in group messages
  • Sign up for parent-teacher conferences
  • Sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards, sign up to volunteer and more all from your desktop or mobile device

How to Register for ParentSquare

  • You’ll get an invitation from ParentSquare to activate your account via email and text. If you haven’t received one, please complete this Contact Form below and we’ll send it to you as soon as we can.

     

  • This step helps ParentSquare and your child’s school confirm that your email and phone number are correct and that you have access to them. Enter the verification code that was sent to you to complete the process.

    Need to Make Changes?

    • If you need to update your phone number, email, name spelling, or if you don’t see all of your children linked to your account, please contact your child’s school.

    • It may take a few days for updates to be entered and show up in ParentSquare.

  • Next, you’ll be asked to confirm the child or children linked to your account.

    Once your contact info is verified and your child(ren) are correctly listed, select “Yes, this is me.”

  • You can update your settings at any time to make ParentSquare work best for you.

    Notification Settings
    You can choose how often you receive messages. Options include receiving messages right away or getting them in one daily summary around 6:00 PM. This applies to email, text, and app notifications.

    On a phone:

    • Tap the Menu (three lines in the top left corner)

    • Go to Account, then choose Notifications

    • Use the sliders to turn notification types on or off

    • Select whether you want to receive messages instantly or in a daily digest

    On a computer:

    • Click your name in the top right corner

    • Select My Account

    • Click Notification Settings on the left side

    • Choose the settings that fit your preferences

  • You can choose your preferred language for your ParentSquare account. This means all posts, messages, and alerts will be delivered to you in the language you select.

    In most cases, your school will already provide your language preference, but you can update it anytime in your settings.

    On a phone:

    • Tap the Menu (three lines in the top left corner)

    • Go to Account, then tap Preferences

    • Select Language and scroll to find and select your preferred language

    On a computer:

    • Click your name in the top right corner

    • Choose My Account

    • On the left side, select Language Settings

    • Use the drop-down menu to choose your language, then click Save

FAQ

  • ParentSquare connects directly with the school’s information system (Power School). If you’re missing a child or school from your account, the first step is to make sure your contact information is correctly listed in the school’s system and that you’re linked to your child.

    Once that information is updated by the school, it will automatically sync with ParentSquare. No additional steps are needed on your end. If you're not seeing updates after a few days, reach out to your child's school to double-check your contact details.

  • You can choose the language that works best for you.

    Go to My Account and click Language Settings. From there, use the drop-down menu to select your preferred language. Once saved, you’ll begin receiving messages in that language.

  • All changes to your contact information will need to be made in Power School. Please contact your child's school office to request changing this information.

  • Yes, you can adjust your notification settings to better fit your preferences.

    From your ParentSquare homepage, click your name in the top right corner and select "My Account." On your account page, look for Notification Settings.

    If you want fewer messages, try switching to the Digest setting. With this option, you’ll receive one condensed message each evening instead of individual posts throughout the day.

  • Absolutely. ParentSquare has a direct messaging feature that lets you privately contact your child’s teacher.

    From the homepage, click "Messages" in the left sidebar. You can send a message that only you and the teacher will see.

    You can also use this tool to message other staff members, like coaches or club sponsors.

  • To make changes to a sign up, you’ll need to delete your current selection and choose a new one.

    Hover over your name, and a trash can icon will appear next to it. Click the trash can to remove your sign up. Once it’s removed, you can click the "Sign Up" button next to the slot you want instead.

  • Yes. If your plans change, you can update your RSVP at any time.

    Go to "Sign Ups & RSVPs" under the Participation tab in the left sidebar. Find the event you previously responded to, then click the green "Change my RSVP" button on the right side.

  • If your registration link has expired or isn’t working, you’ll need a new one.

    You can contact the USD 320 District Office to request a new link, or email ParentSquare directly at support@parentsquare.com and ask for a new registration link to be sent to you.
