New ebtEDGE App Helps Track and Protect Benefits

A new and updated app called “ebtEDGE” is now available in Apple and Google Play stores. This new app has an updated design and layout and allows Kansans to connect their EBT card to track benefits and utilize security features.

ebtEDGE NEW! is the only app recommended for Kansans to track and protect their benefits. Third-party EBT apps do not provide the same protection features as ebtEDGE. If benefits are stolen, they cannot be replaced.  

The app allows EBT card holders to enable the following security features:

• Card freezing: Block all purchases from taking place. Cardholders must unfreeze the EBT card before making a transaction.

• Out-of-state and online blocking: Block transactions from being made online or outside the state the EBT card was issued. Cardholders must remove these blocking features to make an out-of-state or online purchase.

• PIN update: Change the Personal Identification Number (PIN). It is recommended to change the PIN each month before benefits are added to the card.
