Community Information Regarding Wamego High School State Championship Banners

Dear Wamego Community Members,

I would like to provide an update and clarification regarding the availability of the former Wamego High School State Championship banners.

At the June 8 Board of Education meeting, and with the guidance and approval of the USD 320 Board of Education, an official process was established for the sale and distribution of the retired state championship banners. The Board's intent is to provide community organizations with the first opportunity to preserve and display these historic pieces of Wamego High School athletic tradition for public viewing.

Community Organization Purchase Period
June 9 – July 15

During this period, recognized community organizations may submit requests to purchase available banners. Organizations must provide the following information:
  • Name and description of the organization
  • How the banner(s) will be displayed for public viewing
  • Purchase price: $50 per banner
  • Requests must be submitted via email to the Wamego High School Athletic Director at grabert@usd320.com
  • Banners will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the date and time stamp of the email request
  • Purchased banners may be paid for and picked up beginning July 27 at the Wamego High School Office

Individual Purchase Period
Beginning July 16

Any banners that remain available after July 15 may be purchased by individuals for personal collections.
The process for individual purchases is as follows:
  • An online auction will be available to bid on specific/requested banners.
  • The Auction will close at a date to be determined later
  • Purchased banners may be paid for and picked up beginning July 27 at the Wamego High School Office

We appreciate the community's interest in preserving and celebrating the rich history of Wamego High School athletics. We look forward to seeing these banners continue to be displayed and appreciated throughout our community.
Sincerely,

Travis Graber Assistant Principal / Athletic Director
Wamego High School
