Engaging in the Present to Prepare for the Future

USD 320 Partnership with ZeroEyes

Posted Date: 03/24/26 (10:34 AM)

USD 320 Staff, Parents, and Community,

USD 320 has partnered with ZeroEyes, a proactive safety solution that uses existing security cameras and AI to help detect visible firearms and alert law enforcement.

This service adds an extra layer of security to our schools. If Artificial Intelligence identifies a potential threat, trained analysts review the footage in real time and can quickly notify local law enforcement. This allows for a faster response during a critical situation.

There is no cost to USD 320 for this partnership. The Kansas Attorney General’s Office is funding the program for the next two years as part of a statewide effort to strengthen school safety.

This system does not use facial recognition and is focused only on identifying visible firearms. It is designed to support, not replace, the safety measures and protocols we already have in place.

The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We will continue to review and strengthen our practices to ensure a safe learning environment for all.

If you have questions, please contact the district office.

Respectfully,
Scott Meitler
Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Safety & Security
