It is with great pride that we kick off another great school year at Wamego, USD 320.  As a member of this community for several years I certainly consider it home for my family.  It’s an honor to live and work in this great community.  The tradition of high academic standards, the caring nature and quality of instruction of our teaching staff, and the limitless support of our parents, businesses, and other organizations continues to reinforce what a blessing it is to be a part of this school system and community.

I believe we have a great product to offer our students, parents, and community.  We continue to attract new families to the area for these and many other reasons.  We will continue to offer educations programs such as:

  • All-day Kindergarten
  • Pre – K and Other Early Childhood Programs
  • Guided Reading at the Elementary Schools
  • Fully Integrated MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) at the Elementary Schools
  • Financial Literacy Programs
  • Community Mentoring
  • Advanced Placement Offerings at the High School
  • Concurrent Credit Partnerships with HCC and MATC
  • Extensive Career and Technical Courses at the Middle and High School
  • Counseling Services in All Schools

In addition, we will continue to explore and research innovative teaching and learning techniques and programs to provide constant growth and improvement in all that we do for our students.

Many extra-curricular opportunities exist for our students as well.   I believe the sacrifice, discipline, commitment, and relationship building skills required of individuals to be a part of a team, organization, or club is an essential component and extension of the programs we offer in the traditional classroom.  Interscholastic Athletics, Fine Arts, Clubs, Organizations, and Competitive Scholastic Opportunities all exist to create the complete education package at USD 320.

The vitality and success of our school system would not be possible without the hard work and commitment of our teachers, administrators, secretaries, aides, paraprofessionals, custodians, food service staff, bus drivers, maintenance staff, technical staff, many volunteers, and the wonderful support of our community.

I am here to serve our students, faculty, staff, and the Wamego community.   Please contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have.
