WHS Students Earn Employment Certifications
Earning an industry certification students are setting themselves up for educational and career success. Industry certifications allow students to showcase mastery of knowledge and skill. For the student they can increase job prospects, marketability to employers and employability as well as options for post secondary education.
For the employer, industry certifications demonstrate evidence of competencies thus supporting hiring practices and filing employers specific job demand for knowledge, skills and abilities.
During the Fall of 2021 33 students completed OSHA 10 Certification through the Power Structure and Technical Pathway at Wamego High School.
In the FCS Department, 10 students earned the KCCTO Foundations of Health and Safety Certification through KCCTO/KSTATE for the Early Child Pathway. In the Business department, 12 students earned their Ever Fi Financial Literacy certification.
