Grant Sites

CyberGrants - http://www.cybergrants.com
The Foundation Center - http://fdncenter.org
This site "your gateway to philanthropy on the World Wide Web," has a useful online orientation to the process of seeking grants.  You will find information about foundations, how they operate, and who gets grants.  The Foundation Center publishes a weekly Philanthropy News Digest.  Included is the RFP Bulletin.  Each RFP listing provides a brief overview of a current funding opportunity offered by a foundation or other grant making organization.  1
techLEARNING.com (grants and contests) - http://www.techlearning.com/grants.html
This site, produced by Technology & Learning Magazine, The Well Connected Educator, and SchoolTech Expo & Conference, includes information about grants for educators and schools, contests for educators and students, professional development opportunities, and student scholarships.  Specific categories facilitate browsing.  About 1/3 of the grants and contests category are actual grant opportunities.  Information for each included a description of the grant or contest, target audience, regional restrictions, application deadline, contact information (including a Web address), and awards.  A keyword search is available.  1
SchoolGrants - http://www.schoolgrants.org
This site includes grant opportunities, grant writing tips, sample proposals, fund raising opportunities, and contests.  Interested educators may sign up for the monthly e-mail newsletter.  There is also a listserv for people interested in grants for K-12 schools.  There are separate sections for federal grants, which typically pertain to whole school districts rather than to individual schools, and state opportunities.  For the latter, links are provided to the grants page, if available, of each state's DoE.  Lists of grants provided by foundations are listed by those with and without deadlines.  Regional area grants also are listed by areas and then with and without deadlines.  Many of these grants target specific communities where a company has stores or offices.  1
Fundsnet Online Services - http://www.fundsnetservices.com
Fundsnet is a privately owned Web site created in 1996 for the purpose of providing nonprofit organizations, colleges, and universities with information on financial resources available on the Internet.  The Funding Opportunities section is updated daily.  An Educational Grants section provides an alphabetical listing to foundations that provide grants to educators.  Links take users directly to the Web sites of the foundations for more information.  1
LTP Education Resources - http://learn.arc.nasa.gov/grants/grants.html
Part of NASA's Learning Technologies Project, this site focuses on grants in science, math, engineering, and educational technology.  It is suggested that other needs in your school could be met by one of these grants if you add an Internet component.  The grants are listed by proposal deadlines.  Ongoing grants also are provided.  Links are provided to specific organizations that provide grants, including federal grants, and to other grant Web sites.  1
eSchoolNews.com (grant opportunities) - http://www.eschoolnews.com/funding
eSchoolnews.com says it is the number one news source for K-12 technology and Internet decision makers.  This site does have a current list of School Technology Grant Opportunities listed by dates that applications are due.  1
The Scholastic.com Grant Seminar (grants) - http://teacher.scholastic.com/professional/grants/scholgrantseminar.htm
Dr. Gary Carnow is the moderator and expert on this site.  He has written several useful articles centered on the common elements of winning proposals, finding grant sources, and private and federal funding opportunities.  He answers questions regarding the grant writing process as well as fund raising in general.  1
