Dear Wamego Students and Parents,

It is with great pleasure I welcome you to the 2017-18 school year.  I am honored and excited to be entering my second year as Principal of Wamego High School.  Raider Nation could not be a better place to work with staff and community to ensure the success of every student.

I graduated from Emporia State University, in Emporia Kansas with my BSE in Physical Education and Psychology in 1996.  I worked at Ulysses High School in Ulysses, KS as a teacher and coach for 4 years.  In the fall of 2000 I moved to Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, Kansas.  I earned my Master of Science in School Counseling degree from Emporia State University and was a High School Counselor and Coach for 6 years.  During my stay in Pittsburg I graduated with my Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership.  In 2006, I took a position as a High School Counselor at De Soto High School, De Soto, Kansas.  I was a counselor and coach for 5 years in De Soto.  The fall of 2011 I began my administrative career at Leavenworth High School, in Leavenworth, Kansas.  The fall of 2012 brought another change and I accepted an assistant principal/activities director position at Olathe North High School, Olathe, Kansas where I worked for 4 years.  During my time at Olathe North I started my doctoral work at Baker University.  The fall of 2016 I started a new journey as the head principal here at Wamego High School.  I was able to successfully defend my dissertation in October, 2016.

The biggest motivation I have to continually grow personally and professionally is my family.  My wife Holly Brecheisen is an Occupational Therapist and is currently working in the Geary County School District.  We have two beautiful children, Lily and Kyler that are excelling in the Wamego School District and were the driving force to look for a small community we could call home.

I am blessed to be able to lead such an outstanding school and look forward to continued growth and success in Raider Nation.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.

Proud to be a Raider!!
