Wamego High School Power Lifting
Teams Compete at Lyndon Meet

Wamego High School’s power lifting team traveled to Lyndon, KS on Saturday, January 15th to compete in a power lifting competition. Seventeen lifters from WHS competed at the Lyndon meet. Those lifters consisted of Caitlin Boeckman, Matt Boggs, Ciera Conrad, Eric Daniels, Brandon Ebert, Kristina Gee, Jayson Kugler, Amy Melby, Shelby Morehead, Nathan Pageler, Kelly Roberts, Phillip Ruther, Elizebeth Scott, Logan Stoddard, Marissa Streeter, Eric Westgate and Keeley Young. The mens team finished 5th place overall out of 14 teams, the junior mens team finished 4th place overall out of 13 teams, while the girls team placed 3rd out of 14 teams.
In the boys individual competition, Daniels finished 3rd overall in the 132 lb weight class, 3rd in bench with a lift of 125 lbs, 3rd in squat with a lift of 205 lbs and 3rd in clean with a lift of 150 lbs. Kugler finished 1st overall in the 140 lb Jr. Division weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 195 lbs, 1st in squat with a lift of 220 lbs and 2nd in clean with a lift of 165 lbs. Brandon Ebert finished 2nd overall in the 148 lb Jr. Division weight class, 2ndin bench with a lift of 180 lbs, 3rd in squat with a lift of 260 lbs and 6th in clean with a lift of 175 lbs. Ruther finished 1st overall in
the 165 lb weight class, 5th in bench with a lift of 215 lbs, 1st in squat with a lift of 455 lbs and 4th in clean with a lift of 235 lbs. Pageler finished 7th overall in the 181 lb Jr. Division weight class, 7th in bench due to not completing a good lift, 1st in squat with a lift of 320 lbs and 4th in clean with a lift of 205 lb. Stoddard finished 3rd overall in the 198 lb Jr. Division weight class, 2nd in bench with a lift of 200 lbs, 3rd in squat with a lift of 285 lbs and 4th in clean with a lift of 175 lbs. Boggs finished 6th overall in the 220 lb weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 170 lbs, 6th in squat with a lift of 260 lbs and 7th in clean with a lift of 170 lbs. Westgate finished 4th overall in the PWT weight class, 3rd in bench with a lift of 270 lbs, 7th in
squat with a lift of 275 lbs and 2nd in clean with a lift of 275 lbs.
In the girls individual competition, Young finished 5th overall in the 105 lb weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 65 lbs, 5th in squat with a lift of 140 lbs and 8th in clean with a lift of 65 lbs. Boeckman finished 5th overall in the 114 lb weight class, 3rd in bench with a lift of 85 lbs, 5th in squat with a lift of 115 lbs and 5th in clean with a lift of 80 lbs. Roberts finished 1st overall in the 114 lb weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 110 lbs, 1st in squat with a lift of 160 lbs and 2nd in clean with a lift of 115 lbs. Gee finished 8th overall in the 123 lb weight class, 5th in bench with a lift of 85 lbs, 8th in squat due to not completing a good lift and 8th in clean with a lift of 80 lbs. Conrad finished 6th overall in the 132 weight class, 5th in bench with a lift of 95 lbs, 8th in squat with a lift of 145 lbs and 6th in clean with a lift of 100 lbs. Melby finished 9th overall in the 132 lb weight class, 8th in bench with a lift of 80 lbs, 7th in squat with a lift of 150 lbs and 9th in clean due to not completing a good lift. Streeter finished 4th overall in the 140 lb weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 115 lbs, 4th in squat with a lift of 170 lbs and 4th in clean with a lift of 100 lbs. Morehead finished 2nd overall in the 156 lb weight class, 2nd in bench with a lift of 115 lbs, 2nd in squat with a lift of 155 lbs and 2nd in clean with a lift of 100 lbs. Scott finished 8th overall in the PWT weight class, 6th in bench with a lift of 105 lbs, 8th in squat due to not completing a good lift and 8th in clean with a lift of 100 lbs. Wamego’s power lifting team’s next competition will be on January 29th, when they travel to Royal Valley High School.

Wamego High School’s power lifting team traveled to Hoyt, KS on Saturday, January 29th to compete in a power lifting competition. Eleven lifters from WHS competed at the Royal Valley meet. Those lifters consisted of Matt Boggs, Eric Daniels, Brandon Ebert, Jayson Kugler, Kelly Roberts, Nathan Pageler, Phillip Ruther, Elizebeth Scott, Marissa Streeter, Logan Stoddard and Eric Westgate. The boys team finished 13th place overall out of 23 teams, the Jr. boys team finished place 7th overall out of 22 teams, while the girls team placed 6th out of 11 teams.
In the boys individual competition, Daniels finished 4th overall in the 132 pound weight class, 4th in bench with a lift of 125 pounds, 4th in squat with a lift of 195 pounds and 4th in clean with a lift of 160 pounds. Kugler finished 3rd overall in the 140 pound Jr. Division weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 215 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 230 pounds and 8th in clean
with a lift of 160 pounds. Ebert finished 3rd overall in the 156 pound Jr. Division weight class, 3rd in bench with a lift of 190 pounds, tied 1st in squat with a lift of 285 pounds and 5th in clean with a lift of 185 pounds. Ruther finished 2nd overall in the 173 pound weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 225 pounds, 1st in squat with a lift of 455 pounds and 8th in clean with a lift of 245 pounds. Ruther also received a plaque for the best power ratio (body weight to weight lifted) of 5.562 in the heavy weight (165 pounds to the Power weight class). Pageler finished 8th overall in the 178 pound Jr. Division weight class, 10th in bench due to not completing a good lift, 3rd in squat with a lift of 305 pounds and 7th in clean with a lift of 205 pounds. Stoddard finished 2nd overall in the 190 pound Jr. Division weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 205 pounds, 3rd in squat with a lift of 265 pounds and 6th in clean with a lift of 180 pounds. Boggs finished 12th overall in the 220 pound weight class, 13th in bench with a lift of 185 pounds, 11th in squat due to not completing a good lift and 9th in clean with a lift of 185 pounds. Westgate finished 10th overall in the PWT weight class, 6th in bench with a lift of 275 pounds, 13th in squat with a lift of 275 pounds and 4th in clean with a lift of 285 pounds.



In the girls individual competition, Roberts finished 3rd overall in the 123 pound weight class, 2nd in bench with a lift of 110 pounds, 6th in squat with a lift of 170 pounds and 3rd in clean with a lift of 120 pounds. Streeter finished 4th overall in the 140 pound weight class, 2nd in bench with a lift of 115 pounds, 4th in squat with a lift of 180 pounds and 8th in clean with a lift of 105 pounds. Scott finished 10th overall in the PWT weight class, 9th in bench with a lift of 105 pounds, 11th in squat with a lift of 150 pounds and 10th in clean with a lift of 100 pounds. Wamego’s power lifting team’s next competition will be on February 5th , when they travel to Basehor-Linwood.

Wamego High School’s power lifting team traveled to Basehor, KS on Saturday, February 5th to compete in a power lifting competition. Over 550 lifters from over 40 high schools from Kansas and Missouri competed at this meet. Twelve lifters from WHS competed at the Basehor-Linwood meet. Those lifters consisted of Eric Daniels, Brandon Ebert, Jessica Hobbs, Colby Jackson, Jayson Kugler, Nathan Pageler, Shelby Morehead, Kelly Roberts, Phillip Ruther, Logan Stoddard, Marissa Streeter and Keeley Young. The men’s team finished 16th place overall out of 37 teams, the Jr. team finished 12th place overall out of 23 teams, while the girls team placed 7th out of 21 teams.


In the boy’s individual competition, Daniels finished 10th overall in the 132 pound weight class, 11th in bench with a lift of 115 pounds, 10th in squat with a lift of 185 pounds and 11th in clean with a lift of 155 pounds. Kugler finished 2nd overall in the 140 pound Jr.
Division weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 215 pounds, 5th in squat with a lift of 245 pounds and 3rd in clean with a lift of 175 pounds. Ebert finished 6th overall in the 156 pound Jr. Division weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 180 pounds, 4th in squat with a lift of 280 pounds and 6th in clean with a lift of 195 pounds. Jackson finished 9th overall in the 156 pound weight class, 5th in bench with a lift of 195 pounds, 8th in squat with a lift of 250 pounds and 11th in clean with a lift of 170 pounds. Ruther finished 3rd overall in the 173 pound weight class, 10th in bench with a lift of 225 pounds, 1st in squat with a lift of 455 pounds and 10th in clean with a lift of 215 pounds. Pageler finished 14th overall in the 178 pound Jr. Division weight class, 5th in bench with a lift of 195 pounds, 17th in
squat due to not completing a good lift and 7th in clean with a lift of 195 pounds. Stoddard finished 7th overall in the 190 pound Jr. Division weight class, 6th in bench with a lift of 205 pounds, 10th in squat with a lift of 275 pounds and 9th in clean with a lift of 185 pounds.
In the girl’s individual competition, Hobbs finished 6th overall in the 105 pound weight class, 6th in bench with a lift of 75 pounds, 5th in squat with a lift of 150 pounds and 6th in clean with a lift of 85 pounds. Young finished 8th overall in the 105 pound weight class, 8th in bench with a lift of 70 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 130 pounds and 8th in clean with a lift of 70 pounds. Roberts finished 1stoverall in the 114 pound weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 115 pounds, 1st in
squat with a lift of 170 pounds and 1st in clean with a lift of 125 pounds. Streeter finished 12th overall in the 140 pound weight class, 2nd in bench with a lift of 115 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 185 pounds and 15th in clean due to not completing a good lift. Morehead finished 14th overall in the 148 pound weight class, 4th in bench with a lift of 110 pounds, 15th in squat with a lift of 155 pounds and 13th in clean with a lift of 100 pounds. Wamego’s power lifting team’s next competition will be on February 19th, when they travel to Smoky Valley.

Wamego High School’s power lifting team traveled to Lindsborg, KS on Saturday, February 19th to compete in a power lifting competition. Twenty three lifters from WHS competed at the Smoky Valley meet. Those lifters consisted of Bradley Borger, Caitlin Boeckman, Paige Boyda, Ciera Conrad, Eric Daniels, Brandon Ebert, Mariah Ekart, Jessica Hobbs, Colby Jackson, Jayson Kugler, Amy Melby, Nathan Pageler, Kelly Roberts, Phillip Ruther, Kristin Stalnaker, Logan Stoddard, Marissa Streeter, Dakota Turner, Eric Westgate, Daniele Wilson, Michele Wilson, Eric Westgate and Greg Yoxall. The boy’s team finished 8th place out of 19 teams while the girls team placed 1st out of 9 teams.

Dakota Turner finished 9th overall in the 148 pound weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 140 pounds, 9th in squat due to
not completing a good lift and 7th in clean with a lift of 150 pounds. Ebert finished 6th overall in the 156 pound weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 190 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 275 pounds and 3rd in clean with a lift of 205 pounds. Colby Jackson finished 8th overall in the 156 pound weight class, 6th in bench with a lift of 195 pounds, 8th in squat with a lift of 250 pounds and 8th in clean with a lift of 180 pounds. Ruther finished 2nd overall in the 173 pound weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 235 pounds, 1st in squat with a lift of 465 pounds and 6th in clean with a lift of 235 pounds. Pageler finished 12th overall in the 181 pound weight class, 10th in bench with a lift of 200 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 325 pounds and 12th in clean due to not completing a good lift. Stoddard finished 7th overall in the 198 pound weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 220 pounds, 10th in squat with a lift of 270 pounds and 8th in clean with a lift of 200 pounds. Westgate finished 16th overall in the PWT weight class, 6th in bench with a lift of 255 pounds, 16th in squat due to not attempting the lift due to a previous injury, and 16th in clean due to not attempting the lift due to a previous injury.

Wamego High School’s power lifting team traveled to Abilene, KS Saturday, March 5th to compete in the state power lifting competition. Twenty lifters from WHS competed at the state meet. Those lifters consisted of Caitlin Boeckman, Ciera Conrad, Eric Daniels, Brandon Ebert, Mariah Ekart, Sophia Grothe, Jayson Kugler, Shelby Morehead, Nathan Pageler, Kelly Roberts, Phillip Ruther, Elizebeth Scott, Braylon Simonsson, Kristin Stalnaker, Logan Stoddard, Marissa Streeter, Dakota Turner, Amy White, Keeley Young and Greg Yoxall. The boys team finished 14th place overall out of 24 teams, while the girls team placed 5th out of 13 teams.


In the boy’s individual competition, Simonsson finished 4th overall in the 114 pound weights class, 4th in bench with a lift of 115 pounds, 3rd in squat with a lift of 180 pounds and 5th in
clean with a lift of 115 pounds. Daniels finished 10th overall in the 123 pound weight class, 9th in bench with a lift of 135 pounds, 10th in squat with a lift of 195 pounds and he tied 3rd in clean with a lift of 160 pounds. Kugler finished 16th overall in the 140 pound weight class, 2nd in bench with a lift of 220 pounds, 17th in squat with a lift of 225 pounds and 10th in clean with a lift of 180 pounds. Yoxall finished 9th overall in the 140 pound weight class, 9th in bench with a lift of 175 pounds, 10th in squat with a lift of 265 pounds and 4th in clean with a lift of 215 pounds. Turner finished 17th overall in the 148 pound weight class, 19th in bench with lift of 140 pounds, 14th in squat with a lift of 260 pounds and 18th in clean with a lift of 145 pounds. Ebert finished 13th overall in the 156 pound weight class, 10th in bench with a lift of 195 pounds, 13th in squat with a lift of 310 pounds and 15th in clean with a lift of 200 pounds. Ruther finished 2nd overall in the 173 pound weight class, 4th in bench with a lift of 235 pounds, 1st in squat with a lift of 465 pounds and 6th in clean with a lift of 245 pounds. Pageler finished 10th overall in the 181 pound weight class, 15th in bench with a lift of 190 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 335 pounds and 15th in clean with a lift of 200 pounds. Stoddard finished 17th overall in the 198 pound weight class, 14th in bench with a lift of 220 pounds, 17th in squat with a lift of 305 pounds and 21st in clean with a lift of 205 pounds. 

In the girl’s individual competition, Young finished 7th overall in the 105 pound weight class, 9th in bench with a lift of 70 pounds, 8th in squat with a lift of 135 pounds and 7th in clean with a lift of 75 pounds. Boeckman finished 14th overall in the 114 pound weight class, 10th in bench
with a lift of 85 pounds, 13th in squat with a lift of 120 pounds and 14th in clean with a lift of 85 pounds. Roberts finished 2nd overall in the 114 pound weight class, 2nd in bench with a lift of 115 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 170 pounds and 3rd in clean with a lift of 130 pounds. Conrad finished 4th overall in the 132 pound weight class, 2nd in bench with a lift of 100 pounds, 6th in squat with a lift of 140 pounds and 4th in clean with a lift of 105 pounds. Streeter finished 6th overall in the 140 pound weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 120 pounds, 8th in squat with a lift of 185 pounds and 8th in clean with a lift of 105 pounds. Ekart finished 2nd overall in the 148 pound weight class, 1st in bench with a lift of 155 pounds (re-setting her previous state record), 2nd in squat with a lift of 230 pounds and 2nd in clean with a lift of 140 pounds. Grothe finished 6th overall in the 148
pound weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 90 pounds, 4th in squat with a lift of 210 pounds and 5th in clean with a lift of 105 pounds. Morehead finished 7th overall in the 148 pound weight class, 4th in bench with a lift of 110 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 170 pounds and 7th in clean with a lift of 100 pounds. Stalnaker finished 8th overall in the 148 pound weight class, 8th in bench with a lift of 90 pounds, 8th in squat with a lift of 130 pounds and 8th in clean with a lift of 100 pounds. White finished 4th overall in the 148 pound weight class, 3rd in bench with a lift of 115 pounds, 5th in squat with a lift of 200 pounds and 4th in clean with a lift of 110 pounds. Scott finished 7th overall in the PWT weight class, 7th in bench with a lift of 105 pounds, 7th in squat with a lift of 155 pounds and 6th in clean with a lift of 110 pounds.
